Her discography spans five decades, but it is within the past decade that she has finally been recognized as one of America’s finest vocal talents.
Listen, not many people make me laugh as much as when I get to talk to and/or hang out with Bettye LaVette. She is the real deal any way you wanna look at it. She is heading back this-a-way on September 12th at the Stoughton Opera House. We talk deeply about this upcoming event and this tour and how it is like her fifth career. This time around she will be on stage with her musical director, sharing stories, surprises and songs. After our hangs backstage, this sounds to me like a perfect event to be entertained by. I often think about all the ‘what’ she has been through and the ‘who’ she has worked with.
