Not so long ago but still too long ago, my pal Victor and I used to do a series on the greenarrowradio proGram called ‘Frail Pagans’. This was a wide open forehead, moment to moment catch up and see how/where it goes conversation. Avant chat, I suppose. Victor Delorenzo, you know, founding member of Violent Femmes, once drummer of nineteen thirteen, part of Night Crickets is and has always been more than a musician. As we finally got the time to unite our Frail Pagans minds, we find out what he has been up to for the past year or so. The adventure begins with a fall. There is now a middle of a dreamed upon trilogy, movie set for immediate work and the possibility of using whatcha got. Victor starts by reminding us of his first movie, released about a year ago, Mary On The Block. After getting the back story and the who into what of that movie, we go deep into what the second movie ‘Sandwich’ could be, once the work begins. The conversation about this one is true to our Frail Pagans identity, direction unknown as of yet. The rolls are made but the sandwich insides are yet to be decided upon. We talk about some of those rolls and roles, the inner happenings and an occasional ‘maybe like this’ is tested out and we both feel each others excitement. Since I have known Victor, well over a decade now, the discussion about his movie(s) was often kicked around. Even as he talked to his doc in the hospital, he makes as much from what is there, than what isn’t and we both know about this you scratch mine I’ll scratch your world. Heck, there is even a discussed scene in a jazz club, where one misterG could get himself in the movie. More to come. Who knows maybe a Victor & G ‘Frail Pagans episode could wind up on a bigger screen?
