Colossus Brass Band at Snug Harbor

Colossus Brass Band is a high-energy New Orleans ensemble led by award-winning trumpeter Mark Braud that brings a bold, contemporary edge to the city’s storied brass band tradition. Blending second line rhythms, funk grooves, hip-hop influences, and modern jazz sensibilities, Colossus delivers powerful horn arrangements and driving percussion that ignite festival stages, clubs, and street parades alike. Rooted in the cultural heartbeat of New Orleans, the band honors the legacy of classic brass while pushing the sound forward with fresh originals and inventive takes on crowd favorites. Known for their tight musicianship and electrifying live shows, Colossus Brass Band continues to make its mark as a dynamic force in the evolving brass band scene.

This afternoon is the ONLY change to catch a Nickel-A-Dance this Spring 2026 Season held on March 15th at Snug Harbor. The Nickel-A-Dance is a free, family-friendly jazz concert series in New Orleans, celebrating the city’s rich musical heritage. Founded in 1994, it features top local jazz musicians performing classic jazz, blues, and swing. Originally held at Café Brasil on Frenchmen Street, the series now takes place at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro on Sundays from 3:00–6:00 PM. The event is open to all ages and aims to make live jazz accessible to everyone.
